In a nutshell...

Learn about the roots of Zen Buddhism and take part in an online meditation class led by Martin Goodson, a mindfulness and meditation teacher with more than 20 years of experience.

Though it’s difficult to distil the philosophy behind Zen Buddhism into one class, your host will explain the basic mechanics of a mindfulness practice and guide you through three sitting meditations – each with a different focus. Martin will provide a wide-ranging introduction to the subject, covering topics such as awareness, your inner narrator, creating your own space for meditation, living intentionally and how to develop your own mindfulness practice for everyday life.

You’ll leave the session with a fuller understanding of mindfulness and its mental health benefits. You’ll also gain first-hand experience of different forms of meditation and the tools you need to develop your own practice.

Highlights...

  • Learn mindfulness and meditation from an experienced Zen Buddhist teacher
  • Gain the tools you need to develop your own mindfulness and meditation practice
  • Experience three guided meditations in a friendly, welcoming online environment

About the host...

Martin spent eight years as the teacher-in-residence at a Zen Buddhist Training Temple in London. He has been teaching meditation and mindfulness to people of all faiths and none for more than 20 years, both at home in the UK and abroad. He is co-founder of The Zen Gateway, an online magazine covering mindfulness, meditation and Buddhism.
