In a nutshell

Immerse yourself in the world of traditional Spanish cuisine in this virtual cooking class, as you rustle up not one, but two saffron-yellow paellas. Originating in Valencia, a significant area of rice production on the coast of Spain, paella was the food of farm workers who cooked it over a wood fire for lunch; you’ll get to put yourself in their muddy boots as you prepare and then taste the diverse flavours of this traditional dish.

To ensure the rice cooks evenly, you'll need a shallow, wide pan to hand, and follow along on-screen as your host teaches you how to make both a chicken and vegetable paella, and a seafood paella. You’ll also learn how to make the perfect sofrito, a tomato, onion and paprika sauce, which is the secret to a good paella. As you chop, fry and mix, you'll also delve into the history of the dishes, discovering how the recipe has remained intact over the years. Paella has traditionally brought people together, and now you can share yours with friends and family.
